Inspired by Mona Lisa Bazooka by Bansky, this digital painting addresses Internet trolls’ intention to compare themselves to Chinese social commentator Lu'xun (who famously compared himself to a doctor for the society) when bullying one of my classmates online. The appropriation of and the meanings the Lu'xun figure carries is juxtaposed with trolls’ criticizing on the web. This establishes strong contradiction between the trolls’ self-perception and nature of their behaviors. This inconsistency creates an ironic tone of disagreement on trolls.
