I see the world differently. Walking down the street, a sign, a bench, or the sidewalk could all be alive in my eyes — I “see” them hiding from the weather or chitchatting about the passer-by. This project shows the world in my eyes. Focusing on “joy” doesn’t mean this is a simple project. As a famous comedian, Don Rickles, pointed out, “you can't study comedy; it's within you.”

I focused on capturing moments with expressions, motion, or compositions that leave space for alternative interpretation. I tried to observe strangers, animals, or simply the landscape around me. Then I deconstructed and reinterpreted each scene while adding annotations such as conversation bubbles, “emissions,” and facial elements that clearly match each scene but at the same time are definitely not what the figures are doing or thinking right then. This method creates tension in everyday life and would induce either a quiet chuckle or a burst of relishing laughter.
