This project maps out my journeys across three cities I have lived in growing up. Drawing memories from over 130,000 photos in my personal library, I tried to map the cities out without looking at the actual map.
This project maps out my journeys across three cities I have lived in growing up. Drawing memories from over 130,000 photos in my personal library, I tried to map the cities out without looking at the actual map.
My memories are formed not by the physical landscape but by the events that occurred in each location and their chronological relationship to each other. To capture the emotions associated with these memories, I added pictures to the maps, using different filters to represent my feelings. The opacity of each photo reflects where it falls on the forgetting curve, with more recent memories appearing brighter than older ones.

The map is divided into 256 pieces, allowing the audience to create their own interpretation of my story, reflecting the distribution and interpretation of memories.
